Sport Against Match-Fixing

About Sport Against Match-Fixing - SAMF

Sport Against Match-Fixing – SAMF was a European project focused on promoting integrity, values and anti-corruption awareness in sport. The project responded to the growing concern around match-fixing and its negative impact on athletes, sport organisations and the public image of sport, especially by addressing the need to inform and empower grassroots athletes.

The project aimed to raise awareness among grassroots athletes about the nature of match-fixing, its consequences and the importance of making ethical decisions throughout their sporting careers. Through research, awareness-raising actions, online and offline campaigns, and a game-based learning programme inspired by real stories of athletes involved in match-fixing cases, SAMF provided practical tools to help athletes recognise risks and respond appropriately to corruption in sport.
