SafeCombat
About SafeCombat
Although harassment and abuse occur in all types of sports, combat sports and martial arts deserve special attention due to their specific risk factors. The SAFEguarding code for combat sports and martial arts (SAFE-COMBAT) aims to promote a safe environment for athletes from different CS&MA. By providing awareness, guidance and support to sports clubs and technical staff (coaches, youth workers and volunteers), we aim to contribute to the human development and well-being of young athletes.
The consortium will focus diligently on developing a safeguarding code aligned with the specific realities of CS&MA and an educational system through an open and massive online course. This initiative will be complemented by a certification system that is unique in Europe. To promote the widespread dissemination of the project, a Final Conference will be organised with key stakeholders, encouraging other organisations in the Member States to adopt the initiative.
This project has three main objectives:
- Mapping the state of the art
- Create and promote a Code of Safeguarding and education for CS&MA
- To certify CS&MA Clubs
