My Fit Friend

The subject of the project is the widespread health problem not only in the European Union, but throughout the world. Body image disorders are spreading among the general population, and athletes may be a special population at risk, so action from several perspectives is urgently needed. ‘Promoting education in and through sport’, specifically “supporting skills development” and “encouraging healthy lifestyles for all” were chosen as priorities because the partners believe in the potential harm of sport and physical activity as an obsession with weight control and body shape;

The project aims to create a holistic approach to food, health and sport. The document entitled ‘Improving the mental health of the population: towards a mental health strategy for the European Union’ (2005) mentions the need to open up a platform to involve stakeholders, including patient and civil society organisations, in the search for solutions. MY FIT FRIEND will support this issue by carrying out a web survey to show that the use of SM data-based analyses can help overcome the limitations of traditional surveys in body image disorder studies by providing features with many samples and organising multi-level training for different actors in the physical activity and sport environment.
