Green Tick
About Green Tick
This project takes action against such uncontrolled content related to “health, sport, food intake, sleep, exercise, body image, weight loss, diet, physical activity, etc.”.
Just as WADA will scrutinise supplements used by athletes, the “Green Tick” will examine whether social networks and digital applications related to health, diet and sport are convenient and reliable. The “Green Tick” project will act as a kind of trailblazer and, at some point, as a control mechanism. The horizontal priorities of this proposal are primarily digitalisation and partly environmental sustainability and inclusion and diversity.
Green Tick
Its horizontal priorities are primarily digitalisation and partly environmental sustainability and inclusion and diversity. It also has the following objectives:
- Filling the lack of guidelines for users, content producers and application developers.
- Providing quality training to both users and producers. Thus increasing the reliability, verifiability and security of the information, visuals and videos that are produced by social media content producers and application developers.
- Determine criteria for social networks and digital applications in terms of producing reliable, verifiable and inoffensive information, visuals and videos.
- Publish a report with good and bad examples of social media accounts and digital applications. After that, the “Green Tick” label will be given to good examples.
- Raising awareness among young people and increasing participation in physical activity.
