About Green Education Through Sports - GETS
Green Education Through Sports – GETS was an 18-month Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership project focused on supporting grassroots sport and environmental organisations in developing more sustainable and eco-friendly sport events. The project responded to the growing need for sport activities that promoted environmental protection while also encouraging participation in health-enhancing physical activity.
The project brought together sport and civil society organisations to exchange practices, campaign tools and knowledge on the concept of eco-sports. Through the development and testing of an online educational tool, GETS supported organisations, members and volunteers in designing greener, accessible and volunteer-based sport events, while empowering young sport volunteers to raise awareness about environmentally friendly behaviours and involve different generations in green sport activities.
