FORTHE PROJECT

About Forging the inclusion of persons with disabilities in climate action through 3x3 basketball urban sport

The FORTHE project aims to create strong bridges among the 4 key elements of the project: youth, disabilities/social inclusion, climate action and urban sports (3on3 basketball).

Our project builds on the Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2021-2030) that enshrines the equal access and participation of persons with disabilities in society.

Bringing meaningful change in the life of disabled youth can’t be accomplished without the active engagement of local communities and public policymakers. Following this reasoning, our project foresees the involvement of local organisations, regular citizens and public bodies in its activities.

The main aims of the FORTH project are the following:

  • Turn post-Covid-19 impact on disabled youth into an opportunity by training youth workers on how to place urban sports (3×3) as enablers of inclusion and climate action.

  • Organise youth events for disabled youth, facilitate their transnational mobility and enhance public policies favoring climate action for disabled youth.
