Employment@Sport
About Employment@Sport
The future employment landscape remains uncertain, but the sports sector offers promising opportunities for youth employment. Recognising this potential, Employment@Sport is a Europe-wide non-profit event designed to improve employability in sport through experiential learning, knowledge sharing and networking. As part of the European Week of Sport, the 5-day event in Torres Vedras brings together 10 organisations from 10 countries, each sending 12 participants (10 young people + 2 young adults) + 1 manager.
Activities include workshops with sports institutions, networking with industry experts and outdoor sports experiences, among other activities, workshops and a forum. Local volunteers, trained to support the implementation of the event, will also play a crucial role.
The project seeks to improve young people’s skills to face future employability in sport. To this end, the specific objectives include supporting young people in the decision-making process about a possible professional future in the sports sector and strengthening the role of volunteering in sport in developing young people’s skills. In addition, the project proposes the development of an e-learning course focussed on employability trends in the sports sector, initially accessible to event participants and volunteers before being opened up to the general public.
All the activities will take place in Torres Vedras, Portugal with the support of the local city council.
