Employment@Sport

Employment@Sport was a European project designed to improve youth employability in the sports sector through experiential learning, knowledge sharing, volunteering and international networking. The project responded to the uncertainty of the future employment landscape by recognising sport as a field with strong potential to create meaningful professional opportunities for young people. Organised as part of the European Week of Sport, the main 5-day event took place in Torres Vedras, Portugal, and brought together 10 organisations from 10 countries, each represented by young participants, young adults and a manager.

During the event, participants took part in workshops with sport institutions, networking moments with industry experts, outdoor sport experiences, practical activities and a forum focused on employability in sport. Local volunteers, previously trained to support the implementation of the event, played an important role in its delivery. The project also promoted the development of an e-learning course on employability trends in the sports sector, first addressed to participants and volunteers and later made available to the wider public, helping to extend the project’s impact beyond the event itself.
