SoftPath
About SoftPath
SoftPath was a European project focused on integrating values-based judo education into primary school Physical Education. The project aimed to strengthen physical literacy, social-emotional skills and inclusive participation among children aged 6 to 12, especially those from rural, disadvantaged or underserved contexts, by introducing safe and accessible judo-based activities in schools.
By equipping primary school teachers with practical tools and connecting schools with local judo clubs, SoftPath created a structured pathway from introductory school lessons to long-term grassroots sport participation. Through the development of the “Mehka pot” handbook, lesson plans, safety guidance and adaptable activities, the project promoted values such as respect, cooperation and resilience, while strengthening the capacity of judo clubs to work with schools and engage in European cooperation.
