Zero Time to Waste
About Zero Time To Waste Youth Exchange
The aim of the project is to popularize behaviours aimed at not wasting food and limiting its leftovers among young people. Moreover, its goal is to promote among our peers the idea of Zero Waste and activities aimed at reducing the creation of waste. According to FAO, globally, about 1.3 billion tons of food is wasted annually. This constitutes 1⁄3 of the amount of edible food produced.
The project’s actions are to contribute to raising young people’s awareness, providing them with proper knowledge not only on the importance of this process but also on the possibilities of preventing it. Therefore, the project wants to put special emphasis on the culinary aspect. It intends to create an accessible book that will show young people – like us – how to prevent food waste in a healthy and tasty way.
During the project, there will be a real interest in Zero Waste issues. Participants will learn more about food issues, waste segregation, and reusing certain things to reduce throwing them away. It is also a perfect opportunity for the consortium to learn more about other participants of our task. There will be an opportunity to see how meals look in other countries, how people living in the countries participating in our project eat, and also how the Zero Waste ideas are implemented in different regions. For this, numerous educational and integrative games will be created and implemented during the project. As a result of all these activities, a mini-cookbook will be created, which will be translated into the languages of the participating countries and into English to promote the idea of Zero Waste.
