Sport Evolution Alliance is proud to spearhead the International Conference “Breaking Barriers in Sport,” a conference on gender equality in sports organized within the framework of the esteemed European projects “Gender Equality Force” and “Voice for Equality and Rights for Women Athletes.” Set to take place on April 11th, 09 am – 5:30 pm (CET), at the Auditório S. Vicente, Rua Rio das Grades, Alcabideche, this conference promises to be a landmark gathering of minds dedicated to advancing gender equality and women’s rights in sports.
Morning Session: GE FORCE
The morning session will feature distinguished speakers and thought-provoking topics aimed at catalyzing change within sports organizations. Speakers include Pedro Dias, Gender Equality and Inclusion Manager from the International Olympic Committee, Filomena Fortes, President of Cape Verde Olympic Committee, Antonella Belutti, two-time Olympic Champion, Cristina Branco, Head of the Sport Division at Cascais Council, Marcos Lopez from Eunik, and Sara Glogovac from Olympic Committee of North Macedonia, to name a few.

Afternoon Session: VERA Project
In the afternoon, the focus will shift towards discussions on the road to women’s rights in Portugal, featuring insights from a representative from Plataforma Portuguesa Para os Direitos das Mulheres. The keynote speech will be delivered by Thays Prado from the Center For Sports and Human Rights and a round table discussion will have the participation from Susana Feitor, President of the Portuguese Sports Foundation, Sofia Ramalho Gomes, former professional basketball player and Rita Rocha, Professor at the Sport Sciences School at Rio Maior.
